treasures tucked inside

2012 Backpack flyer

Once again, we are excited to provide God’s ARMs to those who the Lord dearly loves by providing a practical gift!  Please consider shopping for supplies as listed on the link above, or providing the funds so that  well over 500 students from the San Carlos Apache Nation can begin another school year in August equipped with the tools they need.  It takes a lot of school supplies!  It requires a lot of partners!  Please spread the word!

Praise God!

We are not quite finished…but a project that is so much larger than us has been unfolding here in the desert of Arizona.  God blessed this ministry with 45 acres that borders the National Forest when we were looking at 3-5 acres.  As the economy slowed, the County told us we needed a permanent access to that property over the Pinal Creek.  That creek runs dry for most of the year, but when the rains melt the snow above, rushing currents washed away our culverts, making access impossible by vehicle.  The Lord provided the initial funds in January of 2010 to begin, and the permits were in hand in April.  He then provided precious people from New Jersey to California to help haul rock in the summer sun, form enormous concrete pillars, create a bridge from railroad cars and then place them by crane, and so, so much more.  We are humbled by the laborers, and those who financially have sacrificed on this project.  God is Good…and God alone could do this.  When excavation required softball-sized rocks for the baskets, that’s what the rented backhoe revealed from our hillside.  When we needed dirt with few rocks to create the access on each side, that’s what we found.  As the end of this project nears, we need large rocks and boulders.  Guess what we’re finding?!?  We serve a MIGHTY KING!

Please, please pray for the remaining funds to finish.  Our current permit expires May 1st.  We have just a bit of rock remaining for erosion control.  What we don’t find, we will need to buy. The heavy equipment rental and loads of remaining boulders, as well as the physical strength to continue are in God’s hands.  We are confident His hands are capable of completing this project!

Reasons for Celebrations! Ten years of ‘Providing God’s ARMs Around the Reservation’

Friday, April 13th, 2012

On Saturday, March 24th, we enjoyed  delicious food, encouraging fellowship and motivating messages at our 10th Anniversary Banquet in Phoenix, Arizona. Many joined in the celebration from as far away as Indiana and California, as near as Phoenix and the San Carlos Apache Reservation.  Speakers encouraged, and energized us all as ARM’s history was re-told, many moments of which would have been impossible without the Hand of God.  The future of ARM was then shared; excitement tangible as we watch God lead us into the next ten years.

The following Friday, March 30th, we then “took the celebrating home” as we held a huge tent revival on our 45 acres.  Again, the crowd was large, the energy and excitement high.  This Native-led praise and worship held many touching moments.  As pastors from everywhere were invited to share, an 85-year-0ld preacher from Payson confided that this was his first-ever tent revival, prompting cheers and smiles from many.  The evangelist invited by ARM to lead this celebration shared words he was led to speak directly to the ARM team.  “God has mighty things to come for ARM.  Do not give up.”  A mild-mannered man hesitantly shared his testimony, clad in suit and tie that evening.  He told about the events that led to his family receiving a home.  Prior to that provision, he and his family were sharing a bathroom at his mother-in-law’s with 35 others.  Addicted to substances, his life looked hopeless.  Now, employed, leading in several ways at his local church, his family has completely changed.

Now, THAT’s something to celebrate!

Welcome!

Arizona Reservation Ministries exists to provide God’s ARMs around the Reservation. Currently serving on the San Carlos Apache Reservation in ways only God could orchestrate, those “arms” are providing a hug for children, shooting basketballs with youth, building homes, distributing clothing and food to impoverished families and sharing God’s hope through the Gospel with all ages. Established upon the principal found in Exodus 17 where God’s people need the assistance of others, ARM has chosen the servant position of Aaron, holding up the needs of our Apache brothers and sisters as the Lord leads. Those who partner with us—financially, prayerfully, or physically, are likewise upholding those in God’s family who live in tremendous poverty (“Hur”).  That leaves the “Moses” position:  Native Christians are more than capable of representing Christ on their Reservation.  With their limited funds, etc., we are simply called to “hold up their ARMs.”  We’re grateful that you’re taking the time to read about us, and acknowledge that our deepest need is your prayers.
